This 100% natural canine grooming product is non-toxic and contains NO petroleum by products, no parabens, no synthetic fragrances, no steroids and no harsh chemicals.

Packaged in an easy to open jar screw off lid jar that contains 57 grams - 2 ounces of actual product weight that arrives shrink wrapped, and - it comes with a small spoon to dispense the product.

We do NOT use product ingredients sourced from China. We also do NOT use castor oil in any of our formulas. Why? Not
because of Ricin dangers, it's because the people harvesting it can suffer harmful side effects in handling it due to the toxic byproducts and allergenic compounds found on the plant surface - toxins that can cause permanent nerve damage. Although the end product, castor oil, is really cheap and has some great benefits, ethically speaking - we simply cannot justify using it.

You probably know, if you have an active dog, those paw pads take quite the pounding. Our dogs like to run around and, they absolutely LOVE going for walks - that's why we've called this product "Hot To Trot" because even if they are dog tired, they still get excited when we put our coats on and grab a leash.

Our Hot To Trot dog paw pad balm formula is made with non-toxic, human grade ingredients - the top of the line. We don’t skimp when it comes to sourcing ingredients and never will. We're dog people and we love dogs! They deserve the best. And, we like to know exactly what ingredients we are putting on our dogs.

Here’s the fun part. Your dog probably isn't used to you touching its paw pads, so you might have to be patient. A few of our dogs don't mind at all when we mess around with their paws, but one of them is like, "no way" because next you're going to want to cut my nails and, you know how much I hate that. We took our time with her coming around to us using Hot To Trot on her paw pads, of course, gifting her with a special treat when she allowed us to complete the job on each paw. Now she's much easier to deal with, and doesn't seem to mind as much - although the treat is still expected!

Some dogs absolutely love having their paw pads massaged. Your dog might be they type that finds it so enjoyable that they fall fast asleep while you're giving them a foot massage. If that doesn't happen right away, it could happen with regular use! Some dogs love a PAWdicure.

After applying it, it's normal (and non-toxic) for your dog to lick at it. Because of the natural waxes in the formula, they won't lick it all off. Our dogs seem to enjoy the natural smell and have even tried to lick the open container. You want to keep it on there so it works, so if your dog is at it constanty - a toy, a treat or a walk can be a good distraction after applying.

Perform a Double Patch Test First
Since allergies can also occur with all natural products, we recommend that you perform a double patch test for any sensitivities before using. Apply a small amount of the product on your dog’s skin in an area with little to no hair - we recommend patch testing under the armpit. Observe the area for 24 hours. If redness or inflammation occurs on the dog’s skin, discontinue use. If after 24 hours there is no reaction observed on the skin - REPEAT the patch test and check again. If there is no reaction from the double patch test, it is safe to use as directed.

If the product is too hard, mash the surface of the balm with the enclosed spoon, dig into it a bit and soften the balm in your palm. Apply with a fingertip to your dog's paw pads, wipe away any excess with a clean cloth and walk your dog outside. If you can't go for a walk, distract them with a toy or a treat. Safe to use several times a daily if needed for sore paw pads (don't forget to apply it again right before bedtime). Use 2 - 3 times weekly for moisturizing maintenance. Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight. For topical use only. If product is left in a warm environment, it will liquify - refrigerate temporarily to solidify.
